I have multiple (basic) users/logons and would prefer that the clock & systray icon be hideable. No sense in asking for trouble. Thanks

Hello.

To hide clock & icon from all logons:
StatWin -> Tools -> Computer Monitoring: Interface (use options here)

To hide clock & icon from all logons except your use:
StatWin -> Tools -> Computer Monitoring: Security. Choose user name for witch you want interface settings enabled for all other users all interface will be hided.
